I'm Officially a "Soccer Mom"

Paige started soccer this past weekend by having her first game & practice. We were all excited for the season to start needless to say we were ill equipped for our first game. No umbrella...ella..ella to shade us from the hot sun and no chair - Hello? But never the less we had a great time. GO TINKERBELLS! Yes, that is their name.
Paige enjoyed warming up with her team mates. John enjoyed chatting it up with the other dads.
Paige saw some of her friends who were scheduled to play after us. This is Avery and she played against Eliza and Cina. Most of the girls on Paige's team go to school with her so this is another good way to meet friends. She is however excited to play her church friends in the future.
After a much anticipated game, it was over and Paige was all tuckered out. When asked if she had fun? She gave it a thumbs up!!!

How exciting....being a soccer mom is like being part of a club. I remember being jealous of you when Kate was a tiny baby and you had to go pick up Paige from preschool....you had a schedule! Well, now I do that too, but I want to be a soccer mom too!! :)
Cute Paige--she looks good in florescent green!

Jessica, I hope you plan on bringing a chair next time as a minimum! OUCH! Paige looks awesome even after a long, hot game.

Tell Paige that Jake & I will match your $1 for every goal. Be Aggressive! Be, Be Aggressive!

So cute! My girls haven't shown much interest in soccer, so I'm not part of that club yet. Maybe someday?

Those are some pretty bright shirts they're wearing. I think "Tinkerbells" is a very fitting team name.

Is that really all of Paige's hair in that first picture??? I would die for Cate to have 1/4 of that hair. Holy Cow!
She looks so cute playing soccer. And how is it that she does look good in fluorescent green? Maybe it's because she's 5...
I can't wait to be in that club too!
It is fun though being a "dance mom" now though.

did the green hair ribbons come with the uniform? Just ask Tracy how much junk I carry to one soccer game - chair, umbrella, blanket, water bottle, book, camera, on cell phone - just to name a few. You need to make a felt sign for your Tinkerbell team in neon green - then you'll be a full-fledge soccer mom. oh yea, you need a big button with Paige's soccer pic on it:)

Emily, don't worry - we plan on being better prepared next time. And the hair bows? They were assigned to one of the moms - I think she got them at the swap meet for $6 for all of them - and they have bells on the end... get it... tinkerbell. Anyway things are a little out of hand, snack is practically catering (they had watermelon, granola bars, cheese sticks, gatorade and water - then after popcicles and fishy crackers) and the sign is professionally done - yes you read that right. I guess it wouldn't be the OC otherwise. I'll take a picture of it next time - they forgot to bring it last time.

Paige looks like a natural with the shin-guards and headband. If you remember for the next game, take video on your camera... I want to see her in action.

I was a soccer mom for a couple of summers in Waverly, Nebraska when Alex was getting started. Then we moved to a little town in southcentral Utah where they had NO soccer! Our teams were not nearly as cute or cool as the Tinkerbells!

Go tinkerbells! Wish I were there to cheer her on! Did her team win or don't they keep score.

Seriously...soccer moms are legit. You have three kids and a full blown schedule, I don't know how you do it. I can't wait until these boys can play soccer. When does it start?

Too bad the girls don't play against the boys. That would be fun to play with you. The Bulldogs against the Tinkerbells!--what a game that would be!

Yes, isn't being a soccer mom fun? I guess I need to learn some things also because we didn't bring an umbrella either. Of course, Tara did (the pro soccer mom), so now I know better.

Hey we should just coordinate soccer schedules and if we are all there at the same field we can make assignments. Umbrella....check, snacks....check, sunscreen check etc... we were not very prepared either! I did have my camera though and I have that very same pic. of Paige and Avery. Too cute!

I feel bad for the team that gets clobber by the Tinkerbells. How humiliating!! I was never a good sport at kids' games. When Tracy was a goalie, I was steamed that anyone would have the nerve to cheer if someone scored a goal. Dad did a much better job.

They are so little in their soccor uniforms. Watching the 5 yr olds is hilarious. Hopefully Paige will enjoy soccor more than Maren did last year.
