My New Favs...

Lately I've had a few of my favorite things on my mind. Now I'm not one to post a list of my "quarterly favorites" but I am in love with these...

First is my new computer... I L-O-V-E it! I really do. I'm still learning the ropes on a Mac, but I'm enjoying the ride at the same time.

Along with my new computer I have also discovered Skype. Yeah, yeah... I'd heard about it - but now that I've used it -- I'm hooked. I am trying desperately to get my parents (Utah), mother-in-law (Utah), sisters (Colorado & Texas) and brother (D.C.) on it... I think it was made for families like ours. Don't be scared people - it is awesome. So far I just Skype Wendy and Adrienne who both live 2 miles away from me.

The rain. Who doesn't love it lately. I admit, it can be awful at times but who doesn't love a change in climate.

Ok, this ISN'T a new show but I am a huge Ellen fan and I'm chomping at the bits until she makes her debut. I can't wait. I think she is going to be HILARIOUS. Love her.

And finally... one of my top 3 shows - GLEE - if you haven't watched this you are truly missing out. So clever, so funny, so love it. John walked in while I was watching once and started to say what a lame show it was - after watching just few minutes he was laughing OUT LOUD. Yes, he is a fan.

Yep... 33

So yesterday was my 33rd birthday. I have to say that I love birthdays. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't like their birthday. Everyone's nice to you. You get calls/cards/FB shout outs/presents... what's not to love. All my siblings call - well usually (um... Elena). ;) It's just a day to feel special. I hope everyone gets to feel special on their birthday. This year, I just wasn't into it. I wasn't bummed to be getting older - I just was.... hmmh... about it all. I just wasn't into it.

But to my surprise the day was so much better than expected. It started off with breakfast out... always nice. I got some nice surprise phone calls. Really nice text messages. Some FB shout outs and even some surprise gifts. We took the kids to Baja FIsh Tacos for dinner (a family favorite) and John and the kids made me a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling.

It was a great day.

By the end of the day I was in to it (as usual). I felt like - yes, it's my birthday... let's party like it's my birthday. Anyway - this is a big thank you to those who pulled me out of my funk. It was a collaborative effort. I love you all for it.

Olive - 9 months old

slow down... slow down.... It is all going by way too fast. But yet I seem to love her more and more each day. Olive is 9 months old today and it seems as though, over the last month, she has grown up faster than the previous 8 months. This last month she has 1) Switched to Bottles; 2) Had her Crib Lowered; 3) Started Crawling 4) Started Pulling Herself Up (hence #2); 5) Had to switch to clips because her hair is too long for headbands; and 6) Started following me around crying at my feet.

She still has NO teeth - which is amazing since all 3 of the other kids had teeth by now. She loves her blanket and still sucks her two fingers. She smiles when you sing "Ollie Pop, Ollie Pop, oh Ollie.. Ollie Ollie, Ollie Pop! Do...do...do..do" She wiggles her little wrists and shakes her feet when you are about to pick her up. She could be in a silent cry but when she is held she will stop immediately. She loves to eat faces and still grabs at everything in reach - amazingly enough even things thought to be out of reach.

She has me convinced that she could do no wrong. She'll never be sassy to me. She'll never lie to me. She will always love me. I'm hooked.

Forts and Playtime

1 ugly old couch - worthless
6 dining room chairs - not much
2 Air Mattresses - borrowed
4 blankets - hand-me-downs
a FORT for the Kids? Priceless!

It doesn't sound very appealing - but it sure is fun!
